Made In England

Otis Batterbee London launched in 2008 with a vision to create luxury products that would stand the test of time. The provenance of our products is very important to us it’s why we only use the best mills to weave our fabrics and the best factories to produce our goods. Using fabrics commissioned by weavers in Yorkshire and Lancashire, combined with the finest trimmings and components the Otis Batterbee collection is designed and produced entirely in England.

Otis’ fascination with Britain’s manufacturing heritage stems from his own family. It all began when his Great Grandfather & Great Grandmother arrived in the UK from occupied France. Here they purchased a sewing machine, that followed with the purchase of another and another and so on. Eventually they became London’s largest clothing manufacturers supplying the likes of Harrods and Liberty along with working with acclaimed designers on a range of products and processes.

Otis cut his teeth on the factory floor, continually learning from his family about business and design. When the family business demised in the 90’s his fascination with manufacturing in the UK continued. Otis studied fashion at the acclaimed Central Saint Martins School of Art and Design in London, he went on to design accessories for several luxury brands and here he discovered that Britain still has some great manufacturers.

In 2008 he designed a range of wash bags, manufactured these in England, showed them to Liberty and the rest is history.

We are proud to label our goods ‘Made in England’.
