For just over a decade Eric Underwood was the 6-foot-2 muscled, lean, athletic Soloist of The Royal Ballet. Born outside Washington DC, in a Maryland neighbourhood rife with gun crime, he had never even seen a ballet until, aged 14, he accidentally ended up in a dance class and won a scholarship to the prestigious School of American Ballet in New York. He toured with the Dance Theatre of Harlem and the American Ballet Theatre, before joining The Royal Ballet in 2006. Now signed by Premier Model Management, Eric has been photographed by everyone from David Bailey to Mario Testino along with focusing on choreography.
